We believe that much of the technology that will allow mining to electrify is close to the point of technological readiness or already there. The big hurdle to mass roll-out of this technology will be the readiness of the workforce, and the organizations and institutions to support this new way of doing business.
Our belief is that targeted training and education of the workforce can improve the odds of successful adoption of BEVs and can help ready the mines to take this leap.

Project Showcase

NRCan Zero Emissions Vehicle Education & Awareness
Initiative
Development of educational content and case studies to address high-priority operational challenges hindering the adoption of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) in mining. EVMO addresses the critical challenges by consolidating information and data directly from the partner mining companies in the project. The output of this project focuses on operational and systems-level challenges targeted at mining companies decarbonizing their fleets.

Komatsu Battery Training Development Project
Development of training materials for Komatsu, covering Battery Basics, Safety, Handling, and Marketing for operations, maintenance, and sales teams. The project included a training roadmap and structured framework to ensure modularity and scalability. Initial modules provided general battery knowledge, while additional content was tailored to specific product groups. This approach equipped stakeholders with essential battery lifecycle knowledge while supporting future training expansion.

Battery basics for Mining Operations Course Development, CIM
Development of an on-demand educational course for the CIM Academy training platform on the principles of battery electric vehicles, their operational benefits, challenges and importance in the mining context.
